Acknowledgements & Thanks
DiskSecure II did not happen overnight, it is a product of
a) Four years, b) Twelve years, c) a lifetime and along the
way I have received a lot of help (ignorance is curable).
It would not have been possible without the support of my
first and only wife, Linda who tolerated the waves and ripples
(we have had a waterbed for twenty years) resulting from 3 am
inspiration.
Along the way many hints and tips were received either directly
or indirectly from people like Ray Duncan (Microsoft), Steve
Gibson (Gibson Research), Andy Hopkins (Dr. Panda), Dave Chess
(IBM-Watson), Ralf Brown (Interrupt List), Frans Veldman (NL),
and Anthony Naggs (UK).
Tim Martin (University of Alberta) and Claude Hayes (University
of Richmond) were always there to test odd configurations and
make suggestions.
Thanks also to Henryk Stroem for providing valuable suggestions and
obscure bug reports
Thanks also must go to Jon David (NY) and Novell Inc. for arranging
the copy of Netware 3.11 that made the Netware compatability mode
possible.
And to all of the members of CARO for putting up with my flights of
fancy and lack of weeding while this was going on.
DiskSecure II was written entirely in Intel iapx Assembly Language
using WordStar for editing the source code and Microsoft MASM v6.0
for assembly (plugs). Both can do many things that the manufacturers
never admit to.
Finally, thanks to Pontiac Motor Division, General Motors Corp who
produced the means for venting pent-up emotions.
